Often there are more prospective students that would like to enroll in a particular grade than we can accommodate. We have outlined two distinct circumstances that will hopefully outline the practices our school maintains. As you can imagine, the selection process can be quite complicated. Therefore, it may be helpful for you to know and understand the Waiting Pool Policies and Procedures.
#1. Initial Process:
This process occurs from September of the previous school year to the deadline in March that present school families have to re-register their children. School families have approximately a month and a half to re-register their children while we simultaneously collect prospective student applications. At times there may be numerous prospective students looking to fill one or more spots in a particular class. It is to this particular circumstance the following procedures apply.
Priority in the Waiting Pool is considered in this order:
• Compatibility with school values as determined through application materials, entrance exam results and pastoral reference.
• Family church membership consistent with foundational principles in TCA's constitution, by-laws and Christian worldview.
•TCA family history
• Number of children to be attending TCA
• Family financial stewardship
#2. Secondary Process:
This process follows a rolling-enrollment pattern where it is a first-come, first-serve basis for qualified, prospective students to enroll. This practice of enrollment begins after the March deadline for present school families has passed and continues until the new school year commences.
Prediction of openings: While it is impossible to predict when or if an opening may arise in your child's class, the Admissions Office will notify you immediately upon an opening becoming available.
Contacting Families: The Admissions Committee meets regularly to review the status of applicants. We make every reasonable effort to contact families in the Waiting Pool via telephone when a space becomes available. If there is no response within 2 business days of our attempted notification, the next eligible family will be contacted. Therefore, application information must be kept current (i.e. home phone & cell phone) so we may contact you on a timely basis. If your family chooses not to accept an opening, your application will move to the bottom of the Waiting Pool or you may request that your name be removed.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact Jonathan Ekeland.
